Finished Froggy.

I had a whole day concentrating on firing my glass painting that I've been working on and then soldering around the edges.

Every part of the process is very exciting and I'm loving it. Although I didn't love it when my finger touched the soldering iron OUCH!

This is my finished froggy I am waiting for the next project which is cooking in the kiln at the moment, it has got three pieces that I will have to join with solder.

Parham country fair.

On Sunday we visited Parham Country show.
The weather was kind to us and we mooched about for hours watching the clay pigeon shooting, archery, and dog agility.

These Alpacas were gorgeous.

Lots of fun to be had, lots of food to be sampled.
It was lovely to go out and not get rained on for a change.

Kiln Fun.

I have been busy making use of my kiln this week.
The pictures above are of my first practise piece of painting.
I was very nervous when I switched the kiln on, for some reason I was expecting smoke, fire and shattering glass, but it was actually ok.

A lot more practise is needed with applying the flat black matt paint. It is hard to get a smooth coating.
I'm looking forward to painting on some coloured glass, there are some gorgeous colours to choose from. But for now I'm practising on cheaper clear glass.

Today's walk.

Hold on tight, off we go on today's walk.

Beautiful Foxgloves.

Amazing colour on this Poppy.

A very cute and fluffy Moorhen.

I think this is Hedge Parsley.

This Butterfly was tiny. When I got home I looked it up in my British Wildlife book and it looks like a Holly Blue.
So pretty.

Back home.
Gosh that was exhausting.

Empty Nest.

This morning at ten past seven I was watching the nest whilst having a cup of tea in bed.
Things seemed to be carrying on as usual with the parents nipping in and out with food.
When suddenly the smaller baby followed the mum as she flew from the nest, after about a minute the other baby followed. What a special moment!
What am I going to watch now? They were much better viewing than breakfast television.

My latest drypoint.

This is the plate in the process of having the ink wiped off with some scrim.

Kiln joy.

My new kiln arrived on Friday.
I ordered it from a company called Warm Glass at around midday on Thursday and it arrived at one thirty the next day. AMAZING.

I've never owned a kiln before.
I'm planning to do some glass painting, something I've been thinking about doing for a long time.

The baby sparrows are huge now, they must be very near to fledging.
The parents have been doing a great job with endless feeding, cleaning the nest out and shooing starlings away.
The photo above is dad on patrol.
I've been trying to photo the babies but my camera is not quite up to it.

The strawberries I planted a while back are doing well.
I'm looking forward to those sweet sun warmed strawberries.
